What I’ve read recently!
I recently read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid, and I’m so glad I finally picked it up after it sat on my shelf since 2021! After hearing it’s a fast-paced read, I decided to give it a try and I absolutely loved every second of it. The story follows the iconic Evelyn Hugo as she recounts her rise to fame and her numerous relationships to journalist Monique Grant, who discovers a shocking connection to Evelyn by the end of her story. Filled with old Hollywood glamour, this book transports you to the golden age of stardom, capturing the allure of icons like Elizabeth Taylor and Ava Gardner. I couldn’t recommend it enough! You will definitely fall in love with Evelyn’s complexity and feel completely immersed in her world. I definitely cried at the end, I was THAT into it. 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Seven Days in June and A Love Song for Ricki Wilde are both beautifully written by Tia Williams, and I loved them dearly. After absolutely adoring Seven Days in June, I immediately ordered A Love Song for Ricki Wilde. What I love most about these books is how they celebrate beautiful Black love stories and explored heartfelt romances. Seven Days in June follows Eva and Shane, two writers who reconnect after a whirlwind week as teenagers. Over seven days in present-day New York, they face their shared past, personal struggles, and the possibility of a second chance at love. While I loved Seven Days in June, A Love Song for Ricki Wilde quickly became my favorite between the two. It immerses you in the glamour of the Harlem Renaissance with a fantasy twist that I didn’t see coming but absolutely adored. I won’t spoil too much, but if you’re looking for a romance with a touch of fantasy (and if you’re as fascinated by the Harlem Renaissance as I am) then this is the book for you!
What I am currently reading for this week!
I am currently reading Women, Race, and Class by Angela Davis and I am loving every second of it. She explores the intersection between gender, race, and class and the struggle for social justice. Davis explores the historical and systemic oppression faced by Black women and women of color and highlights the contributions of marginalized women in the fight for abolition, suffrage, and civil rights. Through a critical lens, the book offers a nuanced understanding of how racism, sexism, and economic exploitation are interconnected and continue to shape society. An absolutely must read and will definitely go down in the hall of fame!
Books that I have my eye on/are on queue for the next read!
I’m pretty sure the ACOTAR series will be my next read! I’ve heard incredible things about it for the longest time, from an old friend back in 8th grade to an influencer I absolutely adore on TikTok. It’s a fantasy romance series, and I’m so excited to dive in, especially since I’ve been reading a lot of nonfiction this year. I’m ready for something thrilling and fast-paced. Stay tuned for my thoughts!

I hope this email finds you well and filled with excitement about adding new books to your shelves! I am thrilled to kick off this newsletter and to share my passion for great reads with you! I am so excited to explore new titles together every single Sunday. Reading has been so essential to my learning process, especially down my entrepreneurial journey! Expect a wide array of genres ranging from finance and business, to self-help and spirituality, to romance, and perhaps even some fantasy thrown in for a wild escape!
I’m considering hosting a monthly Zoom session where we can engage in discussions and read the books together as a community. Looking ahead to the new year, I’m also hoping to launch an initiative where we can donate books to girls who are at-risk youth. My goal is to help foster literacy among young women and provide them with the tools they need to become independent and empowered individuals. I’d love to hear your thoughts. Please feel free to reply to this email and let me know what you think!
But wait, there’s so much more! We’re not just stopping at books. From learning languages (j’apprends le français), to mastering pilates (Natural Pilates is hands down the best in LA, if you need a rec), to launching a business (all while being an entrepreneurship student at LMU) I’ve got a little bit of everything for you. If you’re interested in following along, be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel for more exciting content! Let me know what you want to see by hitting reply and sharing your thoughts. Thank you for subscribing to this newsletter, your support means the universe to me. I look forward to building my personal brand with you, publicly.
Here’s to building our personal brands and chasing dreams, one page at a time.
God bless you,
